Relationships: Boundaries and effective communication

Learning to assertively ask for what we need and want and learning to say no, can impact our emotional wellbeing tremendously. This takes practice for many of us, especially if we are not quite clear about what we want and need. In this session, we will discover how boundaries and the different types of them (physical, energetic, emotional, time, etc) are necessary for healthy, thriving relationships. We will also explore the components of effective communication which are validation (of self and others) as a disarming tool, and assertiveness (not passiveness or aggressiveness) as loving and kind communication. Many evidence based tools will be presented and we will practice role playing with each other to get good at them!
